Deputy Minister of Health Services Meets French Chargé d’Affaires in Doha to Strengthen Health Sector Cooperation and FMIC Support

During an official visit to Qatar, the Deputy Minister of Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health of the IEA, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, along with his delegation, held a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of France to Afghanistan to enhance cooperation in the health sector.

The meeting, attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Qatar, Mr. Suhail Shaheen, and relevant embassy staff, focused on the current needs and achievements of Afghanistan’s health sector and on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The deputy minister for Health Services thanked the French government for its valuable support to Afghanistan’s health sector and called for long-term, sustainable support, particularly through FMIC Hospital, along with further development of technical coordination.

The meeting discussed training programs to strengthen Afghan doctors’ skills, professional development, and the deployment of French doctors, while the Afghan delegation requested that FMIC services be more affordable and accessible.

The French Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed France’s commitment to Afghanistan’s health sector through FMIC and noted that this year marks FMIC’s 20th anniversary, highlighting the longstanding cooperation between the two countries.
