Ministry of Public Health of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan inaugurates the commencement of Strengthening Pharmaceutical System (SPS) project by conducting a one month ToT course on Managing Drug Supply
Dr S. M. Amin Fatimie the Minister of Public Health of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan inaugurated the commencement of Strengthening Pharmaceutical System (SPS) project. In this regard a one-month training of trainers (ToT) course started in the presence of high ranking governmental authorities, leadership and partners of MoPH, representatives of international organizations, doctors and pharmacists of the country. The purpose of the course is to establish procurement system for drugs, ensure access to and availability of safe drugs, efficiency and access to inexpensive drugs and to ensure the existence of quality drugs.
MoPH establishes STOP TB Partnership in Afghanistan
Dr. SM Amin Fatimie, Minister of Public Health of Afghanistan participated in the Stop TB Partnership committee. The participants were officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Education, representatives of both houses of the parliament, representatives of UN agencies, National TB Control programme, donor communities, and relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations. The partnership was globally established in 2000 to realize the goal of eliminating tuberculosis as a public health problem. The overall vision of the partnership is to realize a TB free world.
Dr. S.M. Amin Fatimie inaugurates Results Conference of MoPH for the achievements, challenges and opportunities in 2007-2008
Dr. Fatimie inaugurated the second Results Conference at MoPH this morning. In his opening remarks he congratulated MoPH staff, donor communities, UN agencies and NGOs for their hard works in progressing health and nutrition sector in Afghanistan.
MoPH celebrates 20th Anniversary of HIV/AIDS under the theme of Stop AIDS, Keep the Promise!
National AIDS Control Program (NACP) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has recorded 505 HIV positive cases of which 7 patients were died because of this disease.

Inauguratration of a Comprehensive Health Clinic in Hudkhail area of Kabul city
Dr. Sadruddin Sahar Deputy Minister for Administrative Affairs of MoPH accompanied by some high ranking officials inaugurated a Comprehensive Health Clinic in Hudkhail area of Kabul city in the presence of local elders and residents. The clinic will be providing different outpatient and inpatients health care and services. The building was constructed with the financial support of more than 160,000 USD of U.S Army New York National Guard.
