Ministry of Public Health celebrates International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women to increase public awareness, reducing victims of violence

Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan celebrated International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVW) in order to increase Public Awareness to eradicate the violence against women and reduce the consequences due to gender violence with effectiveness and standard health service delivery, in bright of Islamic teaching.



World HIV/AIDS Day

The 21th anniversary of the World AIDS Day is being celebrated in a situation that the National AIDS Control Program (NACP) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has recorded 556 HIV positive cases of which 8 patients died because of this disease.NACP reported 2000 to 3000 positive all over the country along with 19000 Injecting Drug Users (IDUs).This program wants to decrease the above number to 0.5 percent by 2010.



MoPH celebrates the World Health Day2010 focusing on Urbanization and Health

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the financial assistance of WHO (World Health Organization) celebrated the World Health Day for the year 2010 with the theme of Urbanization & Health at which a large number of high ranking officials from the government and international agencies, members of the Parliament, upper house, donors, professional associations and many others attended.
