Afghanistan Minister of Public Health and Indian Ambassador sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
Today Dr. SM Amin Fatimie, Minister of Public Health of Afghanistan and His Excellency Ambassador Jayant Prasad sign an MOU on the establishment of Telemedicine in Afghanistan. Further to the previous assistances of Indian Government for the health sector of Afghanistan, this time people of Afghanistan witness establishment of another important health project. The main purpose of this project is to provide complex technical know-how and expertise to the health care providers of Afghanistan from a distance by the Indian health professionals.
MoPH signs contracts with 6 non-governmental organizations for establishing 53 sub-center clinics and 9 mobile health teams in 8 provinces
Today Dr S. M. Amin Fatimie the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan signs contracts based on further strengthening the delivery of Basic Package of Health Services with 6 non-governmental organizations. This is the second batch of contracts for establishing sub-centers and mobile health teams. Under these contracts, 6 non governmental organizations (NGOs) including 2 national and 4 international will establish 53 sub-center clinics and 16 mobile health teams in 8 provinces, Badakhshan, Jowzjan, Logar, Kunar, Samangan, Ghor, Herat and Kunduz. The cost of the current 8 contracts is 6,631,367 USD for 3.5 years.
MoPH conducts a conference on Community Based Health Care on 02 – 03, Nov.
Today Dr S. M. Amin Fatimie the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan inaugurated a two days conference on Community Based Health Care in the presence of hundreds of Community Health Workers, leadership and partners of MoPH. The purpose of the conference is to appreciate, encourage, recognize and get awareness about the effective role of Community Health Workers in delivery of basic health services and to gather information about the activities of the Health Workers in the community.
MoPh signed a declaration on Primary Health Care revival
Today evening Dr Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie Minister of the Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, in the presence of the Assistant Regional Director of Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office of World Health Organization (WHO) Abdullah Salih Assadi, signed a declaration on Primary Health Care revival, known as Qatar Declaration.

Dr. S. M. Amin Fatimie, Minister of Public Health of Afghanistan accompanied by Mr. Guido Crosetto, Italian Deputy Minister of Defense and some high ranking Italian officials, inaugurated a Comprehensive Health Clinic in Arghandeh village of Paghman district in the presence of local elders and residents. The clinic will be providing different outpatient and inpatients health care and services. The building was constructed with the 227000 euro financial support of Italian Government and Italian Army under the ISAF set up. From the mentioned amount, 180000 euro was provided by the authorities of Paghmano State of Italy and the remaining 37000 euro was provided by the Italian Army under the ISAF set up here in Afghanistan.
