Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) to construct a 50 bed Hospital in Sar Hawza District of Paktika |
Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie, the Minister of Public Health said that the PRT in Paktika province would be constructing a 50 bed hospital in Sar Hawza district of the province. This commitment was announced to the villagers in Sar Hawza district by the PRT officials in Paktika after the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) attacked 12 insurgents, who were fighting local police using the health facility as a bunker in Sar Hawza district on 26 of August.
MoPH believes that the insurgents violated the sanctity of the clinic by bringing their guns into the clinic. The insurgents hid the weapons under their clothes and they were the first to fire.
The Ministry of Public Health policy is to provide health services to every Afghan who needs health care. Whoever is coming to health facilities and is in need of care will be treated as a health client and he or she will never be asked about their identity or political affiliation.
Ministry of Public Health delivers health services impartially and without any form of discrimination to the needy people of Afghanistan in all corners of the country and requests all parties to respect this policy and support health care providers to fulfill this noble job. We urge warring parties to protect health facilities at all costs under any situation.
