60 tons of counterfeit, expired drugs discarded |
Ministry of Public Health enhances its efforts to ensure availability of quality drugs to the needy people of Afghanistan. Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health has made real efforts to confiscate low quality and expired drugs and to get the smugglers of low quality counterfeit drugs legally punished for their misconduct.
Ministry of Public Health discarded around 60 tons of counterfeit, low quality and expired drugs on Wednesday at Gazak area of Bagrami District in Kabul.
The Afghanistan MoPH Head Quarter has stopped many smugglers of counterfeit , low quality drugs so far and has introduced them to Afghanistan Attorney General’s Office so as to be prosecuted.
One of the effective approaches to avoid smuggling and distributing counterfeit, low quality drugs is to control all the ports of entry throughout the country. This way any smugglers who try to import such drugs will be immediately prosecuted.
Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health presents quality health services to the needy and vulnerable people of Afghanistan - irrespective of partiality and discriminations throughout the country. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan requests all parties to respect this policy and support all health care providers. This way they will be able enough to perform their duties more effectively.
