More Doctors Likely to Serve as Specialists |
The Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has been very happy to empower MoPH Human Resources, improve health services delivery and to lower the mortality rate among mothers and children via building the capacity of Afghan doctors through Medical Specialty Programs in various regions of Afghanistan as well as Kabul.
Doing so the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan took the exam of Specialty Program from around 300 doctors on Saturday at MoPH auditorium.
While the examination process was going on, Dr Suraya Dalil, Policy and Planning Deputy and Acting Minister of Public Health appeared to visit the process.
One may say that subsequent to successful completion of the Medical Specialty Program, these doctors will serve as specialists at the sub-departments of General surgery, orthopedic, Pediatric, Ophthalmic, ENT (Ear, Nose& Throat), Gynecologic & Obstetric and thoracic surgeries. They will also serve as specialists at stomatology, General Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Tuberculosis, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases, Dermatology & Venereal Diseases and Thoracic Medicine sub-divisions.
These doctors had been trained in terms of theory and practice at governmental specialty hospitals for about 4 – 5 years. It is word mentioning that 108 out these 300 doctors were female.
