A solar energy project worth more than 4.5 million Afghanis has been launched to equip 28 healthcare facilities in Panjshir province with renewable power systems.

The initiative aims to ensure round-the-clock electricity supply for medical centres, addressing chronic power shortages. Each facility will be fitted with solar panels capable of generating between five and ten kilowatts, depending on operational demand, a move expected to strengthen the delivery of essential health services.

The project is being implemented by MOVE, a health-sector implementing organisation, under the supervision of the Panjshir provincial directorates of public health and economy.
