Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs Meets Uzbek Delegation to Strengthen Pharmaceutical Cooperation

The Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs of the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held a meeting with the Head of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan and his delegation in the conference hall of the Deputy Ministry for Food and Drugs.

The meeting was attended by Alhaj Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs; Abdullah Azizov, Head of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan; their technical team; and a number of representatives from the pharmaceutical sector. During the meeting, the participants discussed the importance of strengthening trade relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. They also agreed to implement the memoranda of understanding and make efforts to facilitate the registration of pharmaceutical companies.

In addition, several key issues were discussed, including the registration of Uzbek pharmaceutical companies in Afghanistan, ensuring the availability of high-quality medicines at reasonable prices, and presenting the progress of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry. The participants also emphasized the need to improve the capacity of Afghan specialists. The Uzbek delegation expressed their readiness to share technical experience and cooperate in training programs to support capacity building.
