Directorate General for Postgraduate Medical Studies Conducts Medical Communication Skills Workshop for 207 Trainee Doctors in Kabul
The Directorate General for Postgraduate Medical Studies, through the Capacity Building Department, conducted a one-day medical communication skills workshop for trainee doctors in 14 specialized hospitals in Kabul.
The program aimed to enhance healthcare staff’s professional skills and enhance respectful, effective patient relationships.
The workshop covered key medical communication concepts, ethical and effective interaction, professional way of sharing bad news, active listening, empathy, effective questioning, and addressing communication barriers.
The program was attended by 207 trainee doctors. Evaluations and feedback showed increased awareness of medical communication, strengthened listening and empathy skills, and improved team coordination.
The workshop was considered effective in enhancing professional capacity, and applying these skills is expected to improve healthcare quality and patient satisfaction.
