Post title:                                            Epidemiological Surveillance Officer

Post objective:                                 To collect/ report epidemiological COVID-19 data from all over the countries (hospitals and RRTs)

Duties:                

  • Make good communication with RRTs and train them on how to collect and report epidemiological data daily, weekly and monthly about home-based care program
  • Receive weekly report from NGOs throughout Afghanistan
  • Coordinate with database officer in COVID-19 hospitals, orient them about the home- based program and receive tested/admitted/recovered/died COVID-19 cases report daily and weekly in coordination with NGOs
  • Alarm the COVID-19 unit in hospitals about the suspected severe referred cases by RRTs in order to manage the lab test capacity, ICU beds and required supplies
  • Provide feedback about the quality of data gathered by RRTs, find the gaps and reorient them
  • Coordinate with RRTs to enter the gathered data into DHIS2 data base, collect and unify them
  • Report the COVID-19 epidemiological status in terms of table and graph to Senior Technical Advisor and director daily and weekly
  • Participate in surveillance coordination meetings
  • Any other duties assigned by project manager

Profile

Background/training:     Bachelor degree in public health

Experience:                        Having 4 years’ experience in the related field.

Management skills:        ability to direct, guide and supervise a diverse group of people and to

                                                Coordinate activities of different health players
