MoPH and China Discuss Expanding Health Cooperation and Capacity Building
A number of central directors from the Ministry of Public Health held a meeting with representatives from China to strengthen health cooperation.
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Public Health, focused on discussions and topics raised during the recent visit of the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, and his technical team to China.
Key areas discussed included creating opportunities to enhance scientific capacity in traditional medicine, disaster management, improving the skills of healthcare workers, establishing a traditional medicine center, and inviting Chinese experts to Afghanistan to help strengthen the capacity of Afghan specialists in disease surveillance and prevention. The meeting also covered follow-up on issues previously discussed with the Deputy of the National Health Commission of China.
In addition, the Afghan side stated that the topics raised in China would be shared and followed up with relevant institutions in Beijing through the Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They also expressed hope that commitments made in previous meetings would be implemented step by step.
