MoPH Hosts Workshop on National Salary Policy for NGO Health Workers and Analysis of 2023 BPHS and EPHS Expenditures

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health officially rolled out the national salary policy for healthcare workers employed by non-governmental organizations, alongside a workshop to present and analyse the 2023 expenditure report of the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and the Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS). The event was held in the presence of senior Ministry officials, representatives of international organizations, and implementing partners.
During this workshop, key briefings were delivered by Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiasy, Deputy Minister for Health Development and Policy; Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Haleem, Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Public Health; Dr. Sayed Rasool Mangal, Director General of Planning and Policy; alongside technical experts. The discussions focused on the structure and management of healthcare workers’ salaries nationwide, emphasizing the standardization of pay according to established principles and job classifications across the country. Attention was also given to determining salary scales based on service in remote areas and regional factors. Furthermore, the workshop addressed the imperative of eliminating discriminatory practices related to salary distribution to ensure fairness and equity.
