Deputy Minister of Public Health Attends International Health Cooperation and Immunization Meeting in Doha
The Deputy Minister of Public Health for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, and his delegation attended an international meeting in Doha, Qatar, during an official visit, focusing on humanitarian health cooperation and strengthening mass immunization.
The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among health partners, international organizations, and donor countries. The Afghan delegation emphasized aligning international health assistance with national priorities and health policies to ensure effective, transparent, and sustainable support, while improving service quality and resource management.
Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani highlighted Afghanistan’s urgent health sector needs, particularly in vaccination, primary health care, maternal and child health, and emergency preparedness, stressing the need for sustained and increased funding.
He called on international donors to expand financial and technical support, noting that such forums are essential for enhancing cooperation, building trust, and ensuring equitable and sustainable health services for the Afghan people.
He reaffirmed the Ministry of Public Health’s commitment to constructive and long-term cooperation with international partners in line with the national health policy.
