Drug Prevention Awareness Programs Held for Students Across Five Province

Public awareness programs on drug prevention were conducted in a number of schools, faculties, and institutes in the provinces of Nangarhar, Paktika, Parwan, Kunduz, and Samangan.

These programs were conducted for students by the officials of the National Addiction Treatment Program of the MoPH, through the 40-bed adolescent addiction treatment hospital in Nangarhar, the 30-bed addiction treatment hospital in Paktika, the 50-bed addiction treatment hospital in Parwan, the 80-bed addiction treatment hospital in Kunduz, and the 30-bed addiction treatment hospital in Samangan.

In these programs, the social, economic, psychological, and health impacts of drug use were explained in a comprehensive and scientific manner, highlighting the individual and societal challenges associated with substance abuse. Information was also provided on drug prevention, the identification of addicts, and their referral to treatment centers.
