Coordination Meeting Held to Enhance Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Services Across Afghanistan

A coordination meeting was convened to improve the quality and effectiveness of Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) services, bringing together officials from the Ministry of Public Health and representatives from implementing organizations.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Health Service, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; Director General of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Haidar Khan Haidar; National Program Manager for Communicable Diseases (HIV and Hepatitis) in Afghanistan, Dr. Abdul Rahman Shirin Dil; along with representatives from implementing partners.

In his remarks, the Deputy Minister emphasized the need for stronger collaboration and coordination between the National Program for Communicable Disease Control (HIV and Hepatitis) and the implementing partners of EPHS and BPHS, in order to further improve the efficiency and reach of VCT services across the provinces. He also urged the representatives of the organizations to fulfill their responsibilities effectively and in alignment with the commitments made to the Ministry of Public Health.

Moreover, the Deputy Minister stressed that implementing organizations must adhere to the promises they have made and remain committed to delivering their services responsibly and in accordance with the agreed standards.
