The Ministry of Public Health of the IEA Held a Public Awareness Ceremony Under the Slogan “Mental Health in Emergencies

The ceremony attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; the Chief of Staff, Alhajj Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Halim; central directors of the Ministry; representatives from the World Health Organization and other international organizations; as well as members of the media.
The Deputy Minister of Health Services stated: “Mental health is an important and inseparable part of human life and overall health. The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with national and international organizations, has taken practical steps to strengthen mental health services. In the past year alone, health services have been provided to two and a half million patients with mental illnesses, which reflects the progress of the country’s health system.”
Additionally, Alhajj Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Halim, delivered a speech on the importance and preservation of mental health in light of Islamic law. He urged the community and religious scholars to treat individuals with mental illnesses with compassion and respect.
Dr. Wahidullah Afghan, Head of Mental Health at the Ministry of Public Health, emphasized that mental health is an essential part of human life and societal well-being. He added that the Ministry of Public Health has prioritized mental health, taken significant steps, and improved access to related services. He also called on all institutions, scholars, and the media to cooperate with the Ministry in raising public awareness.
On the other hand, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr.De Lara Manuel, delivered a comprehensive speech on mental health, describing it as vital for the well-being of both individuals and society. He also emphasized the importance of developing psychological services, training specialists, and raising public awareness about mental health issues
