New Laboratory Department Inaugurated at Mihtarlam Provincial Hospital, Laghman

A state-of-the-art laboratory department worth USD 100,000, equipped for culture tests and PCR analyses to detect HBS and HCV (hepatitis B and C, commonly known as black and white jaundice), has been officially inaugurated at Mihtarlam Provincial Hospital in Laghman Province.

The facility was established through the efforts of the Laghman Public Health Directorate with financial support from the World Health Organization (WHO). The facility was inaugurated in the presence of senior dignitaries and leading health professionals. The new unit is expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve patient care and treatment services across the region.
