Minister of Public Health Leads Key Online Meeting on Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure and Services Across Afghanistan

The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Highness, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, conducted an online meeting with the directors of public health in the 34 provinces of the country. The meeting addressed the process of establishing district-level general hospitals, maintaining healthcare services during the days and nights of Eid al-Fitr, and taking measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

In this meeting, which was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, the Minister provided necessary guidance and recommendations regarding the establishment of district-level general hospitals. He further instructed all provincial directors to ensure that more facilities are provided to the public for healthcare services and that health centers remain operational during the days and nights of Eid to meet the needs of the citizens.

His Excellency, the Minister of Public Health also emphasized the importance of improving the fight against infectious diseases and the proper implementation of vaccination programs.

On the other hand, the provincial directors expressed their confidence in the effective management of the preliminary actions for the establishment of district-level general hospitals and shared their existing questions on the matter, to which the technical team provided the necessary information.

Moreover, at the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Health Services shared his recommendations with the provincial officials regarding the procurement of medicines and matters related to general hospitals.
