Three-Day Seminar on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Kicks Off in Kabul

A three-day seminar on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) kicked off in Kabul, bringing together 100 technical professionals from pharmaceutical and healthcare product manufacturing companies. The event is being conducted at the auditorium of the Deputy Minister’s Office for Food and Drugs, under the aegis of the Ministry of Public Health.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural session, Dr. Naeemullah Ayubi, Director General for the Regulation of Medicines and Health Products, described the local pharmaceutical industry as a strategic priority, particularly in light of the country’s current healthcare needs. To gain both national and international credibility, it is essential for all pharmaceutical and healthcare product manufacturers to align their operations with globally accepted standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP),” he noted, calling for increased adherence to international protocols.
GMP, short for Good Manufacturing Practices, refers to a structured system of internationally recognized guidelines applied across multiple industries—most notably in pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics—to ensure consistent product quality, safety, and efficacy at every stage of the production process.
