Afghanistan and Belarus Agree to Expand Bilateral Health Cooperation

During his official visit to Belarus, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the IEA, met with Belarusian Minister of Health Aleksandr Khodzhayev to discuss ways to strengthen and expand health cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides discussed a range of health related issues, including the import of medicines into Afghanistan, the provision of medical equipment, professional capacity building for healthcare workers, and the exchange of research findings and information.

H.E. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali said that the Ministry of Public Health is seeking to expand health cooperation with various countries and benefit from enhanced collaboration in the areas of professional expertise, medical equipment, medicines, and healthcare services to further strengthen the country’s healthcare system.

H.E Aleksandr Khodzhayev also emphasized his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Afghanistan in the health sector, expressing readiness to expand collaboration in the areas of medicines, medical equipment, capacity building for healthcare workers, and the exchange of professional and scientific expertise.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to further strengthen and expand bilateral health cooperation between Afghanistan and Belarus, particularly in the areas of medicines and medical equipment, capacity building for healthcare workers, and the exchange of scientific and research information.
