Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative Affairs, Qari Abdul Wali Siddiqi, held a meeting with the High Council of Medical Specialists at the Ministry of Public Health
The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs and attended by Dr. Nisar Ahmad Niazi, Director General of Postgraduate Medical Education, along with members of the High Council of Medical Specialists, focused on endorsing academic ranks for thirty-eight specialization instructors and addressing the concerns of trainee doctors.
In his address, Qari Abdul Wali Siddiqi emphasized that medical professors hold a pivotal academic position and must be accorded full recognition of their professional rights and privileges. He added that the Ministry of Public Health prioritizes empowering academic cadres and fostering opportunities for the professional advancement of trainee doctors.
The Deputy Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs emphasized that the Ministry would carry out essential reforms to tackle existing challenges and strengthen interdepartmental coordination. He assured that the specialists’ recommendations would be followed up diligently and that concrete steps would be taken to improve the system of academic promotion and specialized training.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Niazi, Director General of the Postgraduate Medical Education at the Ministry of Public Health, stressed the need for medical research to adhere to international standards. He urged researchers to adopt a scientific, evidence-based, and innovative approach to ensure their findings effectively enhance academic capacity and improve healthcare quality.
