Authorities from the Departments of Public Health in Khost and Daikundi provinces conducted inspections of several pharmaceutical and food wholesale outlets as part of ongoing regulatory efforts.

As a result of these inspections, 15 types of expired medicines were identified and seized in Daikundi province. In Khost, one clinic was shut down due to the absence of legal documentation, and a major pharmaceutical wholesaler was closed for engaging in illegal practices.

Additionally, approximately 2.5 metric tons of substandard or expired food items were collected in Khost and transported to a central warehouse for proper disposal.
