Islamic Emirate Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Health Center in Kunar, Marking Major Leap in National Healthcare Development
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health has, in a move emblematic of its broader commitment to enhancing the nation's healthcare infrastructure, unveiled a cutting-edge medical facility in the Muni region of Shigal district, Kunar province, funded at an estimated 5.5 million Afghanis.
The inauguration, which marked a pivotal moment for the region, witnessed the attendance of several prominent figures, including the Public Health Minister, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, alongside the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mawlawi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, who were joined by an array of senior officials from the Ministry of Public Health. Also present were Kunar's Deputy Governor, Abdullah Haqqani, the provincial Director of Public Health, Qari Muzaffar Khan Mukhlis, the director of the supporting health network, Dr. Mohammad Naseem Naeem, as well as local tribal elders and healthcare professionals—each underscoring the event’s significance.
Delivering a keynote address, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali underscored the symbolic and practical importance of the facility, characterizing it as an indispensable leap forward in the region’s development. "The establishment of this healthcare center," he asserted, "represents not merely an infrastructural expansion but a transformative stride towards ensuring the well-being of our people—a stride for which we must express our deepest gratitude."
Expanding on the broader national strategy, the Minister highlighted ongoing efforts, endorsed and guided by the Islamic Emirate’s leadership, aimed at establishing district-level hospitals across Afghanistan. These initiatives, he elaborated, are integral to reducing patient loads in central hospitals, enhancing public access to critical healthcare services, and accelerating the overall modernization of the healthcare system—a process which, he noted, would elevate the country’s medical standards to unprecedented levels.
In the aftermath of the inauguration, local dignitaries, tribal leaders, and residents conveyed their profound appreciation to the Ministry for its proactive approach in addressing long-standing healthcare concerns. The completion and operationalization of this sophisticated medical center, they noted, represents a tangible solution to the region’s healthcare challenges, thereby laying the groundwork for future advancements in the sector.
