The Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Public Health, through its Air Pollution Control and Reduction Unit, conducted inspections of various establishments across Kabul city. Officials completed checklists and secured commitments from owners to ensure they will not operate without installing smoke purification systems in the future.

In addition, the unit distributed health awareness messages and leaflets, and instructed workers without health cards to obtain them. It also provided air pollution reduction guidelines to facility owners to ensure compliance with environmental health standards.
