The Ministry of Public Health held an inter-ministerial meeting to support the polio program and enhance coordination among relevant agencies

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali; Al-Haj Dr. Abdul Qudus Baryalai, Director of the National Emergency Operations Center; officials from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints, Ministry of Interior Affairs, and the Ministry of Information and Culture; as well as representatives from WHO, UNICEF, and other partner organizations.

H.E Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, highlighted the importance of joint cooperation among all agencies in polio prevention, stating: ‘Support from all government and social institutions is essential to protect children’s health, and public awareness must be raised to eradicate polio.’ He added that systematic coordination and joint efforts among all agencies can make vaccination programs more effective and ensure that every child has access to immunization.

Dr. Abdul Qudus Baryalai, shared information on the polio virus situation, existing challenges, and the importance of joint efforts across the country. He emphasized that coordination among all sectors can increase the effectiveness of polio vaccination campaigns and ensure access for all children.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives from various ministries also spoke, assuring continued support for the polio program. They pledged that the relevant agencies would maintain necessary cooperation in public awareness, coordination, and support for vaccination teams.
