MoPH Inspection Delegation Assesses Healthcare Services in Herat Province
During a visit to Herat Province, Mawlawi Mahmoodullah Zahid, Director of Health Regulations Implementation and Inspection of the Ministry of Public Health, accompanied by a technical delegation, met with Mawlawi Mohammad Talib Shahid, Director of Public Health for Herat Province.
Which was also attended by several officials and staff members from the Herat PHD, discussions focused on improving and expanding healthcare services, addressing existing challenges, making effective use of available resources, and delivering quality healthcare services to patients.
Furthermore, during inspection visits to Herat Regional Hospital and the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Hospital, the delegation assessed healthcare services, patient care, healthcare workers’ availability and performance, medicines and medical equipment management, laboratory and immunization services, hygiene and sanitation, maternal and child health services, reporting systems, hospital cleanliness, and infection prevention and control practices in line with the MoPH’s standards. The delegation emphasized improving service quality, adhering to communicable disease control standards, effectively utilizing available resources, and providing quality services to patients.
The delegation met with patients and healthcare workers to hear their feedback and suggestions regarding service quality, staff conduct, and existing challenges. The delegation emphasized accountability, transparency, and respect for patients’ rights.
