A new 20-bed hospital for the treatment of drug-addicted women and children has officially opened in Helmand province

The facility, approved by the Ministry of Public Health, will offer free medical services to women and children suffering from substance abuse. The opening ceremony was attended by Helmand’s Director of Public Health, Al-Haj Mawlawi Ahmad Shafiullah; along with representatives from implementing organizations, healthcare workers, and officials from various institutions.

In his speech, the Public Health Director highlighted the importance of the new hospital and called on partner organizations to actively contribute by ensuring a steady supply of medications, increasing public awareness, and providing vocational training for patients. He emphasized the need for greater attention and collaboration in addressing the issue of drug addiction in the region.
