The program was conducted by the Pharmacovigilance Department under the Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance of the Food and Drug Authority for doctors, nurses, midwives, and vaccinators from the Afghan Red Crescent Central Hospital and the 400-bed Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan National Military Hospital. It aimed to raise awareness of the pharmacovigilance system, strengthen adverse drug reaction reporting, enhance medicine safety, and promote the rational use of medicines.

During the program, specialists from the Pharmacovigilance Department delivered presentations on the fundamentals of pharmacovigilance, the importance of reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors, challenges to implementing the system, and the proper completion of reporting forms. Adverse drug reaction reporting forms and allergy cards were also distributed to healthcare workers.

It is worth noting that the effective implementation of the pharmacovigilance system plays a vital role in the detection, assessment, and prevention of the recurrence of adverse drug reactions, and contributes significantly to ensuring the safety and quality of medicines and healthcare services across the country.
