Ministry of Public Health and WHO Discuss Strengthening Disease Surveillance and Emergency Health Response

The Director General of Monitoring and Inspection of the Ministry of Public Health, Mufti Abdul Quddus Hashimi, held a meeting with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) to review the current status of the country's surveillance system and discuss public health emergencies.

The meeting focused on the performance of the surveillance system, emergency preparedness and response, disease prevention and control measures, early detection and rapid response mechanisms, as well as the collection, analysis, and assessment of health data.

Mufti Abdul Quddus Hashimi expressed his appreciation for WHO's continued cooperation and technical assistance, underscoring the importance of strengthening the surveillance system to enable the timely detection of public health threats and ensure an effective response to emerging health challenges.

WHO representatives reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration and pledged to maintain their technical and professional support in the areas of disease surveillance, public health emergency management, capacity building, and disease prevention and control.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing the quality of healthcare services, further reinforcing the surveillance system, and expanding joint efforts to address ongoing public health challenges and improve the country's emergency health response capacity.
