Deputy Minister of Public Health Lays Foundation Stone for New Training Hall in Nangarhar Province

During his visit to Nangarhar Province, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, laid the foundation stone for a large training hall at the Nangarhar Public Health Directorate.

The ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Aminullah Sharif, Director of Public Health in Nangarhar, the UNICEF Eastern Zone Health Officer, and several other officials.

The training hall is being constructed with financial support from UNICEF at a cost of six million Afghanis and will have the capacity to accommodate approximately 350 participants at a time.

Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani expressed his appreciation for UNICEF’s support and instructed the relevant officials to ensure that the construction work is carried out in accordance with the Ministry’s policies and established standards.

The Director of Public Health described the training hall as an important facility for building the capacity of health workers and said that, once completed, it will help launch key training programmes for their professional development.
