Deputy Minister of Public Health Meets UNODC Officials to Strengthen Collaboration on Drug Prevention

Mawlawi Abdulwali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Healthcare Services at the Ministry of Public Health, met with Mr Bo Mathiasen, Chief of Operations at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and Mr Polik Ok Siri, Head of the UNODC Office in Afghanistan, during an official meeting at his office.
Dr Haidar Khan Haidar, Director General for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention at the Ministry, was also present.
During the meeting, the deputy minister thanked the UNODC for its continued cooperation and coordination. He described the organisation’s role in preventing drug-related harm as vital and called for greater collaboration in this field.
Mr Mathiasen praised the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to tackle the drug problem and expressed appreciation for its commitment. He reaffirmed the UNODC’s support and pledged to continue working closely with the Ministry of Public Health.
