Fourth Round of Monitoring Conducted to Standardize the Graduate Medical Education Program at Khair Khana 102-Bed and Esteqlal Specialized Hospitals

To assess the challenges faced by specialist trainers and resident doctors, as well as to identify gaps in the GME program, monitoring teams from the Operational Affairs Directorate of the General Directorate of Graduate Medical Education visited the two hospitals. During the visit, they held meetings with the hospital leadership, training program coordinators, department heads, specialist trainers, and resident doctors to discuss the standardization and further development of the residency training program.

The monitoring teams highlighted the importance of standardizing the residency training program and achieving the strategic objectives of the General Directorate of Graduate Medical Education. They also emphasized the value of key educational components of the curriculum, including scientific conferences, logbooks, bedside teaching, morning reports, ward visits, and case presentations, as these activities play a fundamental role in enhancing the academic knowledge and professional competencies of resident doctors.

It is worth noting that this standardization and monitoring process is intended to be implemented across all specialized hospitals in both the capital and the provinces, as well as in complementary specialized training centers, including military and private specialized institutions.
