Minister of Public Health Meets with UNICEF Afghanistan Representative to Strengthen Healthcare Service Monitoring
In his official office, the Minister of Public Health of the IEA, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, held a meeting with the Head of UNICEF Afghanistan, Dr. Tajudeen Oyewale, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Deputy Minister for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, and advisors to the Ministry leadership, discussions were held on the implementation of joint monitoring to assess healthcare service delivery, improving the performance of UNICEF-funded implementing partners, and addressing existing challenges and gaps.
The Minister of Public Health emphasized the prompt resolution of existing problems and shortcomings in the activities and services of implementing organizations, and stressed the need for greater attention and cooperation from UNICEF in this regard.
Similarly, the Deputy Minister for Health Services shared information with UNICEF officials regarding the monitoring carried out in Nangarhar province on the activities and services of implementing organizations.
On the other hand, the Head of UNICEF Afghanistan expressed confidence in coordination and cooperation in this regard, and said that they would formally introduce their representatives through an official letter so that joint monitoring activities can be carried out in a regular and organized manner.
