Minister of Public Health Stresses Polio Eradication as Top National Priority in Meeting with WHO Officials

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health of the IEA, held a meeting in his office with Dr. Hamid Raza Jaffari, Head of the Eastern Administrative Region for the World Health Organization’s Polio Program, and his delegation.
During this meeting, discussions focused on the latest report on the activities of the World Health Organization, the evaluation of the joint program based on the Ministry of Public Health leadership’s statements, polio eradication, training of health workers in polio diagnosis, and several other important topics.
The Minister of Public Health Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, emphasized that the complete eradication of polio in the country is a top priority and stated that the budget related to the polio legacy challenge in the region should be allocated according to the priorities of health services, so that essential healthcare can be provided to all citizens and the spread of contagious diseases like polio can be prevented.
The Minister of Public Health also discussed the quality and effective implementation of the polio vaccination campaign and urged the World Health Organization officials to give greater attention to this matter.
On the other hand, the World Health Organization representatives expressed their full commitment and assured cooperation in various areas for the effective implementation of polio eradication efforts.
