MoPH and National Examination Authority Conduct Second Round of Medical Licensure Exam for 1404 Graduates

The Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in coordination with the National Examination Authority, administered the second round of the 1404 Solar Year Exit (licensure) Examination for graduates of the Faculties of Curative Medicine and Stomatology.

The inauguration ceremony of the examination was attended by the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali; the Deputy for Administrative and Technical Affairs of the National Examination Authority, Sheikh Rahimullah Haqqani; the Director General of the Medical Council, Dr. Faqir Mohammad Ziyar; representatives of the National Examination Authority; Kabul University officials; faculty members; and examinees.

Delivering his keynote address, the Minister of Public Health described medicine as a “sacred duty and responsibility.” He underscored ongoing capacity-building initiatives aimed at empowering young graduates to effectively serve the population. He urged candidates to prioritize public service and highlighted the critical importance of medical ethics, emphasizing professional conduct and patient-centered care. The Deputy for Administrative and Technical Affairs of the National Examination Authority stated that the examination process was conducted with full transparency and integrity, assuring that the results would be announced based on a merit-based and standardized assessment framework.

The Director General of the Medical Council expressed appreciation for the efforts of the National Examination Authority, noting that the medical profession holds significant professional and societal value. He emphasized the need for continuous professional development and called on doctors to enhance their competencies and uphold their responsibilities toward public health.

Following the commencement of the examination, the Minister of Public Health, accompanied by officials from the National Examination Authority, conducted an on-site inspection of the examination halls and extended best wishes to the candidates.

It is noteworthy that nearly 7,000 graduates from Faculties of Curative Medicine and Stomatology nationwide participated in the examination, which was administered at Kabul University in a well-organized, transparent, and equitable manner.
