MoPH and Uzbekistan Expand Cooperation in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Products

The Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, and his accompanying delegation held discussions with health officials in Uzbekistan on strengthening and expanding cooperation in the fields of healthcare, medicines, and medical products.

During his official visit to Uzbekistan, the Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs of the Ministry of Public Health met with Mr. Ilkhomjon Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, to discuss the exchange of professional expertise and cooperation in the treatment of Afghan patients, particularly those suffering from cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and other serious illnesses. The two sides emphasized the expansion of health cooperation, the facilitation of joint initiatives, and the strengthening of technical relations between the two countries.

In a separate meeting with Mr. Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, H.E. Zahid discussed cooperation in strengthening the capacity of technical staff, providing professional training, advancing the pharmaceutical industry in both countries, strengthening quality control laboratories, and enhancing laboratory equipment and facilities.

The Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs thanked the Government of Uzbekistan for its hospitality and cooperation, noting that stronger bilateral cooperation would help build technical capacity, advance the pharmaceutical industry, improve healthcare services, and strengthen relations between the two countries.

 

Uzbek officials expressed their readiness to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in the areas of healthcare, medicines, and medical products, and emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts.
