MoPH Deputy Minister Visits Russian Health and Pharmaceutical Institutions to Strengthen Cooperation
During his official visit to Russia, the Deputy Minister of Food and Drug of the MoPH, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, met with officials from the country’s health, pharmaceutical, and commercial institutions.
Both sides exchanged views on applying advanced standards and best practices in drug regulation and evaluation. The delegation from the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority also visited leading pharmaceutical laboratories, where they were briefed on drug registration systems, clinical trials, quality control, and surveillance systems.
The meeting also included discussions with officials of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and traders in the food and drugs sector on expanding trade cooperation, attracting investment, facilitating imports and exports, and strengthening cooperation with pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.
In addition, the delegation visited the well-equipped modern “ANTIKA” hospital, where they discussed healthcare cooperation, exchange of professional experience, and efforts to improve access to treatment for Afghan patients with serious illnesses, particularly those with heart disease and cancer.
