The Ministry of Public Health has signed a CAD 2,328,319 agreement with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) to strengthen families through technical and vocational training, provide internship opportunities for female healthcare workers, and enhance the capacity of community health workers in Parwan, Samangan, Daikundi, and Kunduz provinces.

The four-year contract was signed to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services and help address public health needs. Under the agreement, 2,149 residents across the four provinces will benefit from family empowerment through technical and vocational training, internship opportunities for female healthcare workers, and capacity-building programs for community health workers delivered through 10 hospitals. The initiative will also create 27 employment opportunities in the healthcare sector.

The AKF representatives also assured that the project would be implemented over the four-year period in line with all established standards, with a strong focus on meeting the healthcare needs of the local communities.
