National Drug Treatment Program Conducts Monitoring Visits to Rehabilitation Centers in Badakhshan Province and Kunduz Province
The Director of the National Drug Treatment Program of the Ministry of Public Health, Inamullah Ammar, along with his accompanying delegation, conducted monitoring visits to addiction rehabilitation centers in Badakhshan and Kunduz provinces.
The quality of healthcare services, patient care processes, availability of medicines, staff performance, and bed capacity were assessed at the centers. Discussions were also held with center officials and healthcare workers on existing challenges, needs, and ways to further improve service delivery.
Inamullah Ammar emphasized the importance of effective treatment and rehabilitation of drug users and directed officials to ensure standard, continuous, and timely healthcare services for patients. He also assured continued efforts to strengthen addiction treatment centers and improve service delivery.
During the visit, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) was encouraged to construct a building for the 50-bed addiction rehabilitation hospital in Badakhshan Province. With the organization’s financial support, a quantity of food supplies was distributed to rehabilitated addicts in the province.
