Ministry of Public Health Signs $444,143 Contract to Expand Healthcare Services in Balkh

The Ministry of Public Health signed a contract with the organization Operation Mercy (OPM), worth $444,143 to strengthen and expand healthcare services for the residents of Balkh Province.

The contract has been signed for a period of nine months to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services and to reduce public health challenges. Under this agreement, 2,969 residents will directly benefit from maternal and child health (MCNH) services through the polyclinic of the regional hospital in Balkh, while 17,814 others will benefit indirectly. In addition, 24 job opportunities will be created in the health sector.

Representatives of the OPM organization also expressed their assurance that the project will be implemented over nine months in accordance with all set standards, with special attention to meeting the healthcare needs of the population.
