MoPH Launches Three-Day Workshop on Accreditation Standards for Private Hospitals

The Deputy Minister of Public Health for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, officially inaugurated a three-day workshop about introducing national standards for grading private hospitals and training surveyors.

In the opening ceremony, several officials attended, including Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services; Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Taher Haleem, Chief of Staff of the Ministry; Dr. Sayed Rasul Mangal, Director of Policy and Planning; Mawlawi Saifullah Muawiya, Executive Director of Accreditation of Health Centers; along with other directors of the ministry, representatives of the World Health Organization, and representatives of private hospitals.

The Deputy Minister spoke about the importance of private hospitals in the country. He called the accreditation process a national effort and said: “Health is the right of the people, and it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Health to provide standard health services to all citizens.”

He also asked all participants to accept the accreditation process for private hospitals as a shared responsibility, so that patients can receive quality health services through the full implementation of standards.

In addition, Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Taher Haleem, Chief of Staff of the Ministry, said: “To gain the trust of our people, we must give priority to medicine and not to business. Only then can the quality of health services improve and become more standard.”

Dr. Sayed Rasul Mangal, Director of Policy and Planning, stated that accreditation and grading of private hospitals is not only useful for patients but also important for hospital staff and managers. He added that this process will help improve staff capacity, strengthen management systems, and ensure better use of resources.

Similarly, Mawlawi Saifullah Muawiya, Executive Director of Accreditation of Health Centers, also delivered a detailed speech on the importance of accreditation for private hospitals. He described the process as necessary for improving the quality of health services and ensuring transparency.

Notably, this workshop will continue for three days, during which participants will receive detailed information about the national standards of accreditation, the value of the process, and how it will be implemented.
