MoPH Launches Two Equipped Radiology Centers at Afghan–Japan and Infectious Disease Hospitals Worth $1.8 Million

During the ceremony, Minister of Public Health Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Deputy Minister for Health Services Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Chief of Staff Al-Hajj Muhammad Tahir Halim, several central directors, representatives from WHO and other agencies, and media personnel participated.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Public Health described the establishment of the two state-of-the-art radiology centers as a significant step forward for the health sector. His Excellency emphasized that strengthening the health system is our top priority, adding that the new facilities will greatly improve diagnostic capacity, enable timely detection of diseases, and help reduce costs in the field of diagnostics.

The Minister, while thanking the World Health Organization and the Government of Japan, added that a strong diagnostic system forms the foundation for accurate treatment and that these centers will enable our health workers to provide precise diagnoses

The radiology centers were established with $1.8 million in financial support from the Government of Japan, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. Equipped with two CT scan machines, two Doppler echo machines, a solar power system, and other facilities, the centers will provide high-quality diagnostic services to patients.
