Afghanistan’s National Influenza Laboratory Achieves Grade A in WHO Quality Program

The NIC department of the Central Public Health Laboratories of the Ministry of Public Health has once again achieved Grade A in the External Quality Assurance Program (EQAP), further strengthening Afghanistan’s standing among countries of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO).

This significant achievement reflects the dedication, technical expertise, and tireless efforts of the professional team of the National Influenza Laboratories (NIC), under the General Department of Microbiology of the Central Public Health Laboratories, Directorate of Diagnostic Services of the MoPH, together with its partners. By securing Grade A in the EQAP assessment, they have reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to international health standards.

This remarkable achievement has been sustained continuously since 2009, reflecting the team’s high-quality performance, accurate laboratory diagnostics, and strong commitment to international standards.
