MoPH and Russian Health Officials Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Food and Pharmaceutical Sectors
During his official visit to Russia, the Deputy Minister for Food and Drug of the MoPH, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, along with his delegation, held discussions on key food and medicine related issues with the Deputy Health Ministers of Russia, as well as the directors of the Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations and the Authority for Registration and Control of Medical Equipment.
Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in food, medicines, and healthcare products, including cooperation agreements, investment facilitation, improving import and export processes, streamlining pharmaceutical registration, and enhancing technical cooperation.
The meeting also covered visits to Russian pharmaceutical quality control laboratories, capacity building for Afghan medical staff, and the use of Russian standards in drug regulation and quality control.
The Deputy Minister of Food and Drug of the IEA said the main objective of the visit was to facilitate the import of quality and reasonably priced goods for Afghan traders, as well as to attract joint investment.
In conclusion, both sides emphasized strengthening long-term cooperation, facilitating the export of high-quality and safe medicines, and creating investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical and healthcare products sector.
