These projects, completed through the Aga Khan Foundation’s health services development budget, include a pharmaceutical and medical supplies storage facility, a solar-powered water heating system, and a water purification system for the hospital.

In a ceremony held for this purpose, the Deputy Minister of Public Health for Policy and Health Promotion, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Ghiyasi, the Governor of Bamyan, Qari Gul Haider Shafiq, officials of the Aga Khan Foundation’s health services, representatives of the Provincial Public Health Directorate, religious scholars, tribal elders, and representatives of international partner organizations attended the event.

The Deputy Minister called the inauguration of these projects an important step toward improving healthcare services at Bamyan Provincial Hospital. He also said the Ministry of Public Health has launched efforts to build hospitals in districts across the country, including well-equipped facilities in Sayghan and Kahmard districts of Bamyan, to improve access to quality healthcare services.

He also said that the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health, in coordination with international partners, is working to establish a more advanced, responsive, and effective healthcare system in Afghanistan.

It is worth noting that the projects were implemented to improve the storage of medicines and medical equipment, provide clean drinking water for staff and patients, and irrigate the hospital’s green areas.
