The 24th Leadership Board Meeting of the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Held

It was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, with the participation of the Ministry’s deputy ministers and central directors.

The meeting discussed the construction of new general hospitals at the district level; the provision of necessary medical equipment and supplies for these hospitals; the training of specialists to ensure the delivery of quality health services; the timely procurement and supply of medicines and medical commodities; the management of the needs of health facilities; the appropriate distribution and provision of essential medicines and medical supplies; and the collection of activity fees from non-governmental organizations.

The Minister of Public Health provided the relevant officials with the necessary recommendations for the effective implementation of their duties. He emphasized the need to address existing challenges, fulfill assigned responsibilities, and give serious attention to identified shortcomings.

He further instructed that all activities of the Ministry must be aligned with its strategy and that all tasks should be carried out in an orderly, transparent, and accountable manner in accordance with the established objectives.

The deputy ministers and central directors of the Ministry of Public Health also shared their views and recommendations on the issues discussed and on improving the implementation of ongoing activities. They assured the leadership that they would take the necessary measures to effectively fulfill their assigned responsibilities.

Meanwhile, officials from the Ministry’s Monitoring and Inspection Department delivered a presentation on the report of monitoring activities conducted during the solar year 1404. The report covers regional and provincial hospitals across all 34 provinces of the country, as well as specialized and tertiary hospitals. The key findings and main points of the report were shared with the Ministry’s leadership.
