AFDA Delegation Meets with Hamdard Pharmaceutical Company Officials
The meeting was attended by Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs and head of the delegation, along with Mawlawi Sayed Haroon Azad, Director of Traditional and Alternative Medicine Affairs; Dr. Mohammad Wali Adil, Director of Food Registration and Licensing; and Noor Ahmad Hanafi, Technical Adviser.
The meeting focused on the development of traditional and Unani medicine, professional training for Afghan physicians, online learning opportunities, short-term specialized courses, and the organization of practical workshops in the laboratories of Hamdard Pharmaceutical Company.
The officials of Hamdard Pharmaceutical Company also expressed their commitment to supporting the establishment of free health camps in various parts of Afghanistan and expressed interest in establishing a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the country. The facility would be the first major pharmaceutical manufacturing plant established by a foreign company in Afghanistan and would produce medicines locally on an ongoing basis.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the near future to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the AFDA and Hamdard Pharmaceutical Company.
