Afghan Food and Drug Authority Delegation Holds Key Meetings in Moscow to Expand Pharmaceutical Cooperation

Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority of the Ministry of Public Health, and his accompanying delegation met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Moscow.

The meeting focused on the main objectives of the visit to Russia, plans for official meetings with senior officials, and site visits to food and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, expand strategic cooperation in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, and facilitate Afghan traders’ access to the import of quality, safe, and affordable medicines.

Following the meeting with the Ambassador of the IEA, the delegation of Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority also met with officials of the Russian pharmaceutical company Pharmasyntez in Russia. The company’s chairman briefed the Afghan delegation on its production capacity, quality control systems, and export procedures. Both sides also discussed facilitating the export of high-quality, safe, and affordable medicines, as well as exploring potential opportunities for joint investment in the pharmaceutical sector.
