A senior Afghan health delegation led by Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, together with Sheikh Mohammad Taher Haleem, Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Public Health, has held talks with the leadership of Medipol Mega University Hospital during an official visit to Turkey. The delegation also toured the 810-bed medical facility as part of its engagements.

The two sides discussed plans to establish direct links between Afghan hospitals and Medipol Mega through a telemedicine system, alongside proposals to strengthen professional cooperation and expand the exchange of scientific and clinical expertise.

The Deputy Minister called on the hospital’s president to deploy specialised medical teams to Afghanistan to support the training and capacity-building of Afghan healthcare professionals. He also urged the institution to provide tailored facilities and preferential concessions for Afghan patients seeking treatment at Medipol Mega.

The director of Medipol Mega University Hospital welcomed the Afghan delegation and assured them of the hospital’s full commitment to cooperating across the areas highlighted in the discussions.
